Over the current season a number of clearspan marquees and associated equipment including furnishings and linings have been erected or put in place for sporting events including England Hockey Tournaments, CLA Game Fair, and Winter Dressage Championships.
The most recent clearspan marquee has been erected at The Munrow Sports Centre on the University of Birmingham campus, alongside their newly resurfaced pitches. This marquee has been put in place in association with the England vs India test match, taking place 29th July, 31st July and 2nd August. This event was organised by the England Hockey in partnership with Birmingham City Council and University of Birmingham. The marquee in place is 9m x 27m with a 3m x 3m Chinese Hat Marquee fully equipped with board floor, dark green carpet, lighting, Georgian entrance doors and furnished with wooden 5' round tables and natural banqueting chairs with ivory seat pads to seat 32 people.
The CLA (Country Land & Business Association) Game Fair is one of the largest most comprehensive shooting exhibition in the in the UK, which covers all country sports and countryside activities via major show areas and features which include demonstrations, displays, debates, championships, competitions, tuition and many 'Have a Go' opportunities. Fews Marquees were in attendance at the event, after being asked to provided a luxury marquee for Bettws Hall Sporting Estate & Game Hatchery. The marquee occupied a central location and looked sensational against the impressive backdrop of Belvoir Castle, Grantham, Leicestershire, NG32 1PE. The marquee itself was a 12m x 12m clearspan marquee with 12m bell end (hexagonal end), constructed on 3m legs giving the marquee extra height and a greater sensation of space. The marquee was equipped with board floor, anthracite carpet, electrics / spot lighting, fully lined with ivory linings and feature black out back wall and furnished with a illiuminated half illuminated round bar with bright white lights, cool bar stools and suspended television rail to support a 50'' television. These features combined with our freshly steam linings complemented each other prefectly to create a professional and impressive stand. The event was a huge success this year with over 136,000 people in attendance at the Game Fair and Fews Marquees playing host to a large number of these people. This is an annual show which Fews Marquees has been a part for the second year running. Next years event will be held at Ragely Hall, Alcester, Warwickshire from 23rd to Sunday 25th July 2010, where organisers are hoping for more of the same and Fews Marquees will be there to help. Ragley Hall is a new and exciting venue for The CLA Game Fair, superbly located adjacent to the M40, M5, M6 and M42 motorways offering a well positioned venue for visitors from all parts of the country. Organisers believe having the event at a different venue each certainly helps success and sales because it keeps things fresh and it makes the show accessible to people in different parts of the country.
For the second year running Fews Marquees have been part of the annual Winter Dressage Championship held at Hartpury College, within their newly established arena. Fews Marquees put their unique lining skills and attention to detail into place by transforming student classrooms into VIP areas and dressing the arena walls to achieve a more elegant look. Ivory and black linings walls and blue swags are used to accomplish this effect.
