Today, we’re going to be talking you through 5 exciting events hosted here in the UK that Fews Marquees had the privilege of being part of.
Pride events are taking over every city in the UK, getting bigger and better every year, so we were honoured to be asked to provide 6 structures for Birmingham Pride.
To ensure the event could be fully enjoyed despite the weather, the Main Stage, Main Dance Room and Village Cabaret Area were all to be housed inside clear span structures with curved PVC roofs, each one with a pagoda to accompany that acted as a green room.
The three temporary structures measured 25m x 30m on a 3m leg, providing plenty of versatile space to be converted into temporary venues for this electric event to take place.
Manchester’s biggest music festival, Parklife has just hosted its 10th year and it was this year that Fews Marquees had the privilege of getting involved.
Two structures were required: a gigantic, striking structure for the Palm House stage and a VIP guest area but the challenge was to make these structures as eye-catching yet practical as possible, avoiding the traditional polygonal structure typically associated with marquees.
The Palm House Stage was the perfect time to install the Igloo structure, a 14 metre high, 30m x 50m structure with clear sides and a clear panel in the roof, making the stage area feel bright and open. The roof was also made with silver and black PVC to ensure the perfect environment.
The VIP area needed to be much smaller but equally as impressive, so a premium glass wall marquee was designed, 10m x 20m in size with a clear PVC roof for an open and airy feel.
80,000 people attended the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park across a three-day event to celebrate all things British athletics and Fews Marquees were pleased to provide five different structures, one of which was for Sainsbury’s and the other for Magnum.
The main exhibition area was a 10m x 25m premium marquee, branded with Sainsbury’s logo and used for celebrity signings as well as a museum set up, while the rest of the exhibition was housed in a 12m x 30m clear span structure, which also had additional space for staff rooms.
A covered picnic area was created in the grounds for guests to use whatever the weather, measuring at 14m x 30m.
The final space was branded for Magnum, a hospitality suite with seating and a massage lounge, as well as an area for Flora to create a tasting station.
Jaguar Land Rover hosted a vehicle test day for members of the press at Graydon and needed premium, branded structures around the racecourse for various different uses.
The structures were created with hard ABS sides and glass panels that were then branded with the company logo, while the structures were transformed into car showrooms, press rooms, cloakrooms and spaces for refreshments.
Fews Marquees have had the honour of attending the British Grand Prix at Silverstone three times with the Sahara Force India Formula 1 team, providing their corporate hospitality suite, as well as a stage for driver Q&A sessions, a seating area for guests and a space for housing entertainment activities.
The brief was very specific, each structure having to be both practical and chic looking, so we created a series of contemporary and streamline looking premium curved roof structures with ABS and glass panelled walls for a strong yet bright finish. The main hospitality suite was furnished with dark grey flooring and a mixture of high and low white luxury seating, creating a really opulent space to relax and enjoy the day.
