Fews, a leading UK provider of premium temporary structures, was contracted to supply their latest innovation—the Avantgarde marquee—to the prestigious SailGP event held in Portsmouth. The event, part of the global SailGP sailing championship, required a high-performance, visually striking, and weather-resilient solution to match the calibre of the international competition.
SailGP needed a modern looking structure for the official merchandise stand, and the Avantgarde structure provided the ideal solution. Avantgarde’s horizontal windows were branded using contra-vision vinyl allowing maximum internal impact while allowing lots of natural light. The 10m x 15m black framed marquee was set on self-weighting heavy deck floor since staking wasn’t possible.
The Avantgarde structure represents step forward in marquee design, featuring sleek black aluminium profiles and panoramic glazing. Given the unpredictable coastal weather and strict timelines, Fews’ experienced project management team conducted a comprehensive site assessment and coordinated closely with SailGP’s event organisers. The installation was completed within the tight window, showcasing Fews’ logistical capabilities and commitment to health and safety compliance.
