Designated Foreman (on a specified build)

Reporting to: Head of Operations

Direct reports: Riggers

Location: Onsite based with occasional time in the Fews office and yard

Salary: Opportunity to earn excellent salary

Purpose of the Role

To ensure the efficient construction and dismantle of marquee structures on designated jobs are delivered on time, to specification and to budget, leading by example and motivating your assigned team to achieve the required objectives. To safeguard health and safety on site and while loading and unloading at all times, both personally and in relation to clients and your assigned team. To take overall responsibility on site for client liaison, ensuring client’s expectations are met, their property respected and jobs (including all client paperwork) are signed off appropriately while on site.

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• To manage a team of Foremen and Seasonal Riggers on site
• To build and deconstruct marquee structures at designated site locations and ensure that all:
o Tasks are delegated accurately to ensure efficient and professional set up and take down
o Staff are kept motivated to work efficiently and keep a positive attitude
o Procedures are being followed at all times
o Build (and dismantle) deadlines are met
o Health and safety rules are observed
o Disciplinary action is taken where the above is not followed or met
• To provide team briefings (toolbox talks) prior to any jobs commencing and debriefing meetings following every dismantle
• Ensure proper preparation has been done before leaving for any job – i.e. liaise with Head of Operations to make sure you have:
o The operational briefing pack for the job (including returns and site completion paperwork)
o Map and directions
o Client name and contact details
• To be the first point of contact for all Foremen and Seasonal Riggers in relation to any queries, personnel issues and complaints
• To ensure all vehicles are loaded correctly at the yard (working with the Warehouse Manager) before leaving for any client site
• To ensure all vehicles are reloaded correctly before returning to the yard, at the end of every job
• Make sure all equipment and vehicles are treated with respect at all times
• Make sure vehicles are parked properly and speed restrictions observed
• To keep the Operations Manager informed when on a designated job, including if delayed on route and expecting to arrive late, or if work is running behind schedule

• To take overall responsibility of the quality of the instillation/dismantle of the marquee and relevant finishings/accessories
• To liaise with client on site and ensure the delivery note (and all other paperwork is signed before departure)
• To liaise with the client’s other designated contractors e.g. AV and lighting, kitchen equipment etc to coordinate successful instillations an ensure aligned dismantle timeframes
• To liaise with Fews sub contractors to ensure seamless integration of their services with Fews
• To be part of an ‘on call’ rota with other foremen for emergencies
• Ensure the job is completed to company standard and customer is satisfied before leaving site (job checklist to be completed for all jobs)
• Before leaving site ensure that the site is left tidy and clear of obstructions or health and safety risks and the site completion checklist is filled in
• To ensure all equipment is collected up and accounted for on dismantle, and the returns paperwork is completed
• To assist other team members when appropriate for the benefit of the company
• Perform additional duties as delegated by the Head of Operations (both in peak and off peak seasons), such as
• Taking on additional responsibilities such as refurbishing equipment, cleaning, re-organising etc in quieter periods
• Adherence to the financial authority matrix at all times, in addition to company and legislative policy and procedures
