A stately wedding
An autumn day in the grounds of Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire saw the magnificent wedding reception of Rachel and Edward. The bride and groom arrived by helicopter to find a beautifully decorated marquee next to a bridge and a lake in the Capability Brown designed landscape.
The main structure we provided was a 10m x 25m Premium curved roof marquee on a 3m leg, with a 15m x 10m entrance and a 15m clear PVC entrance canopy which allowed access to the cloakrooms without being exposed to the elements. The interior was decorated with premium ivory pleated lings and ivory valance, complementing the PVC and glass walls which were installed to fully maximise to the views of the lake and bridge.
Furniture included limewash Chiavari chairs, white leather sofa’s and pouffes. For the evening entertainment we provided a 16’ x 16’ white LED dancefloor and a 32’ x 12’ stage.
As with all events, we monitored the weather carefully to anticipate any issues. The build presented a number of challenges because heavy rainfall prior to the event meant the conditions underfoot were very soft. We deemed it necessary to use vehicles with low ground pressure tyres, and install trackway to the location to prevent damage to the parkland. Also it was necessary to use a cassette floor system to ensure a level and uncompromised base and prevent any incursion from the elements.
